intercultural dialogues in theatrical forms

what's going on?

Our normal activities have been disrupted by the pandemic, but there's still lots going on. We're working on a variety of projects with several community groups, but the following are of wider interest!

Lone Wolves film

In January 2021, the UK practically leaves the European project. As a company whose core is intercultural dialogue, led by a first generation migrant from the other side of Europe, we have made a little film to mark this moment.

FIELD notes

Our new book, collecting ideas about the future of live performance from the group of brilliant people who took part in the FIELD residency, is available to read online or you can buy your own copy.

Staging Places

Costume and set design from Declining Solo is currently part of the Staging Places exhibition at the National Centre for Craft and Design, until 10 January 2021.

opportunities

This winter, we've been offering wellbeing CPD for creatives, working to curate artist opportunities and there will be more in 2021. For now, be kind to one another in difficult times: cooperation, not competition, is what takes us forward together!

We are Two Destination Language...

Two Destination Language is led by Katherina Radeva and Alister Lownie. We make bold award-winning performance work which explores ideas of identity, belonging and boundaries. Our work tours in the UK and internationally. It can be seen on theatre stages, in village halls, in libraries, in galleries, in parks, along roads, in abandoned shops, in dingy corners. We also create exhibitions, installations and print publications.

We work with other award winning creatives and artists to create experiences which are touching, thought provoking, intellectually stimulating and very visually arresting.

Our projects working with non-professional members of the community have been transformative for those involved and for the places they live, shared with public audiences like any of our other work.

Our curatorial projects take shape in festivals we produce and conversations we undertake. Listening is a key method in our process and inclusion underpins everything we do!

Two Destination Language is an Associate Artist at ARC Stockton and a registered charity committed to promoting the arts as a vital part of societal wellbeing, challenging populist ideas, reaching audience members from under-represented groups and supporting artists in every way we can.
